The Most Romantic City in the World
Introduction

There are two main reasons for which this city is so famous all over the world, one is the tourism and the other is industry. This city which is audaciously built in a lagoon is located in the Northern Italy and is the capital of Veneto region. The name of the city is taken from the people of Veneti who were settled there here in 10th B.C. it is said and sure that rightly said Venice is the most romantic city in Europe. It is known to the world with name Venice but it has other names as well like La Dominante, Queen of the Adriatic, City of water, City of marks, The Floating City, City of Canals and City of Bridges.
Thousands of people may have said words about the city but Luigi Barzini described the city of Venice in its real beauty. He described the city as undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man in New York Times.
History
Due to unavailability of historic record about how city established, it is not possible to say anything for sure. But historians are believed that the city was inhabited by the people who were refuges and migrated from the Roman Empire. In 16th century the city was considered a most famous center for music.
Tourism
Undoubtedly Venice is one of the major important tourist attractions in the world. The art work in the city is amazing. This city is one of the world's greatest and the most beautiful cities of art. How popular is the city around the globe can be judged from the fact that almost 50,000 visitors visit the Venice. In 2006 the city got the 28th number in the ranking of world's most visited international cities. About 2.927 international arrivals in Venice and is a great contributor towards the economy of the city. Tourists attract towards the Venice due to its uniqueness, cityscape and above all the great musical and artistic cultural heritage.
An annual festival is celebrated in Venice which attracts the tourists from all over the world. This festival is called Carnival of Venice. This Carnival was revived in 1980's from that time it has become the center of international conferences and festivals. The famous festivals of the Venice are Venice Film Festival and Venice Biennale in which artists participate from all over the world the world to show their artistic work. Other major tourist attractions of the city include St Mark's Basilica, Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco.
